New wreath for Linda's house

You really should see my sister Linda's house decorated for Christmas.  She and Harry go all out and it is just gorgeous.  The other night we created a new wreath to hang over her fireplace.  I must say that it turned out just gorgeous and Linda sent me a picture of it so I decided to do a post on it.  Her home is done in Pink of course and teal and is just beautiful.  Maybe I'll go down and take pictures and post a visual tour here....... Maybe....
So here is the new wreath

Crafting weekend

Wow!  I haven't been here in a long time.....Just wanted to show all of you what craftiness I have been up to.
I made this too cute little bat centerpiece.  You can make your own buy going to this link and following the step by step instructions by Jennifer Beason the guest designer over at Ally Scraps.  My bat is a bit different then hers, but that's why he's my kooky little bat!  I've also been making a few banners to hang on my hutch.  Hope you like them.  I've made some Halloween cards too but didn't take pics of them.  I hope all of you have a nice rest of the weekend.  I'm off to decorate my house for Halloween.  I better hurry or I'll miss the holiday completely. Please excuse my dining room table I'm transitioning from Fall decor to Halloween. Hope the rest of your weekend is a nice one.
Thanks for taking a look.

Cards I've been making

Hi Everyone,
I've been doing some card making lately.  I'm on a roll you could say.  Just found out how to make the easel cards and love them.  So much fun to make.  I'm also thinking and working out of my comfort zone and doing some goth girls "they're cute though" and I even watched Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" and I loved it! So anyway that's what I've been up to lately.  I'm also doing a few other things that I'll post about a bit later. Thanks for taking a look.

Vintage seam binding

Here is my first attempt at creating my own vintage seam binding.  Sorry the picture is so light.. It's actually a little darker in color.  I used tattered angels Pink (not sure of the actual name) I'm pleased with how it turned out and I made more in peach and orange and have the orange  fingers to prove it.

I'm also going to attach some of the goodies I made for the 4th to take to Chris and Danielle's house.  They hosted a great 4th of July cookout with lots of great food and fun! Danielle had everything decorated up and it was so patriotic and festive and Chris was a master at the grill, with Ashley's always awesome salad and Linda and Harry's scrumptious potato salad and always requested and so tasty iced tea it was a great day!  Topped off with fireworks courtesy of Chris and so much fun with the kids. Thanks Chris and Danielle.

What I've been up to lately

Wow, I haven't posted in a very long time so just wanted to catch up and tell you what I've been up to lately.
I made this card for Linda (my sis) for her birthday.  It turned out so pretty if I must say so myself and the flowers were fun to make so of course I made a bunch of them.  Here is a picture of her card .  The next thing I made was a a wreath for the 4th.  It turned out pretty cute too. Here's a pic

Then I decorated up my hutch a little for the 4th!  It is one of my favorite holidays!
I got a roll of seam binding and this morning I tried my hand at making some vintage looking seam binding of my own.  I dyed the seam binding with  some Tattered Angels that I got from Claire's store
(Stamp & Deliver) for those of you that don't know.  She's gotten in some new goodies so I'll need to run over and take a look.  I'll try to post a picture of the seam binding after it is all dried to give you all a peek.
That's all for now.
Have a very Happy and safe 4th of July!

Organizing my craft room

I've been organizing my craft room and I'm actually doing it the right way this time.  Most times it seems I just move things from one side to the other.  Well this time, I'm organizing, giving away stuff that others can use, and throwing away stuff just lying around.  For instance I read on line.  When you get home take things out of the packages right away and recycle your bags. Wow!!!  Was that ever an eye opening experience :)  There were tons of bags in there with stuff still in them...  I knew I had purchased things but couldn't find them........... I guess this was the reason.... who'd have thought :) Ohhhhh and receipts...I threw away more receipts.  What am I saving them for they are scrapbook supplies.....it's not like I'll return them or ever want to actually see how much I spent again. :)   I was just talking to Ashley  and she was telling me that receipts are covered in BP powder.  You know the bad plastic we are trying to get and stay away from.  Gosh, I had no idea.  If you want to read more about this you can go to the blog called Young house love and read about it.  It's a very cool blog with lots of ideas for your house and it's a journey to see what this young couple have done with their first home.  Wow!  They are clever.   Sorry for the side bar....

Back to my craft room.  Hubs and I went to Ikea the other day and boy did I score!  I got a $35 dollar table for $19 for my craft room.  I was so excited!  It was exactly what I was looking for and then I got some other little goodies to help me organize and stuff.   So I'm going to post some pictures because I was doing such a happy dance and was so thrilled with how my room is coming along.  Look at this cool little swing out drawer thingy that attaches to the leg.  Those Swedes are so very clever!  I just love Ikea!
I will take more pictures when I am completely finished...there is still stuff in baskets and on the floor that needs to be sorted but it's all coming together.  I love it....  Okay that's all for now.  This is what I have been up to lately.  Thanks for taking a look

Blooming Air Plants

I'm so excited.  My air plants are blooming, or beginning to.  Linda and I sent for air plants a while ago and I glued mine all to a wreath and put them on the screen porch and I guess they are happy at the moment because they are blooming!  I just glued them on with Aleenes tacky glue (quick dry)  Anyway I just thought I would share a few pics of my little plants that live off of air.
Thanks for stopping by.

Well here they are!  My faux cakes all decorated and finished.  Sorry the pictures aren't very good they have lots of mica and the colors are brighter but it didn't show up on the pics.  I love them!  I'm very happy with the way they turned out!  Such fun!  Thanks for taking a look.

More of my faux cakes

Well,  here is step two of my faux cakes.................adding the borders. This was so much fun. I might even make
a real cake for hubs birthday tomorrow. Does it look real? It's so cute and so fun!  After this dries I get to decorate it!  Can't wait to add glitter or Mica and little trinkets.  You really should give it a try
if you like decorating cakes and creating. What a fun little box!  A great little ezine!  I recommend it!

This is cool!  A bald eagle just flew over my yard circled around and came down and plucked a fish out of the lake behind our house!  Pretty exciting to see!  They are majestic birds!!  They've been hanging around alot lately.  Tried to get a picture to post but trying to shoot a digital camera toward the sky and follow a flying bird isn't easy.  So no shots today.

Thanks for taking a look.

Hi-Jinx

Here are some of the hi-jinx I have been up to.  I gold-leafed this large foam egg.  I think it is beautimous!  A Real Diamond Jubilee Egg indeed!  Then I bought the ezine Pretty Spring Things  and I have been creating little goodies from that including the faux cake.  I will show you mine in the works.   I think I may have gotten a little to heavy on the frosting, but we'll see.  It might take a year to dry. (I hope not).  Then I am getting my tablescape ready for Easter.  This has been a so much fun.  Love doing it!  That's pretty much what I've been up to.  Thanks for stopping by.

Lil Chick Tassel

Hello Everyone,
I haven't been around for a while and just wanted to show you what I've been up to lately.  Oh my goodness I've discovered in my blog surfing a whole new group of bloggers out there that do tablescapes!  The are beautiful and very inspiring!  As I was surfing around to the different blogs reading about them I kept seeing these decorative tassels....they seemed to be everywhere....and I hadn't heard about them!  How could that be?!?  So I went to several different blogs and tutorials and decided to try one myself.  They aren't cheap to buy or to make mind you but I'm trying to stay busy so I was determined to make one.  So here is my first attempt at a little chickie tassel.  I'm rather chuffed with myself I must say!  I think she turned out pretty cute!  Now off to find more little goodies to make tassels out of!  Where I will put them all I haven't a clue......maybe they'll become gifts who knows, but this and my crocheting of the hats for newborns is what I'm up to at the moment.  This could change at any moment too.  My crafting Muse is a very fickle one!  She's got my creative juices flowing at the moment now though..........so hopefully I'll be busy and posting a few more projects.  Maybe even a tablescape if I like it enough.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh  one more little tidbit of shopping delight.  Our newest shopping center.  The Pavilion of Port Orange has just opened this past week there is a Home Goods and a brand spanking new Micheals and I got to go in the second the doors opened and it was all bright and shiny and new!  These are two of my favorite stores!  I'm like Gallagher talks about in his act.  I get a glazed look in my eye hear nothing being said to me and my mantra is " I'm shopping"  I guess you had to see the skit.  But I'm there.  Home Goods has seen me almost every day .... So many wonderful goodies there and new stuff every day!  I haven't even ventured on to the other stores yet, but I have eaten at 5 guys burgers!  Yummy!  A great hamburger and great fries.  I wouldn't want to have my cholesteral taken after eating there but I enjoyed every morsel.... Ummm-ummm!  I recommend it!  That's all for now!
Have a great weekend.

After working on this blog all afternoon to get the new template up, I go and do a post about how cute it is and my blog goes all wonky.........Sorry about that.  I hope it's back to normal soon.

Looky here........

I'm back again with a cool online mag I just found.  It's fun to look at all the cool trends and colors out there!
So if you want to take a peek here is the link Things to Love Right Now.  There are some pretty wild things
on there, but some cool stuff too...............so have fun looking.

It is the cutest!

Isn't my new blog look just the cutest! It's so springy........and I know how much we are ready for Spring!
I love it!  It was designed by Irene Alexeeva  who designs for the Scrap Orchard!  I just discovered her and I'm loving her digital scrapbook kits!  That's what I've been up to lately and crocheting like crazy.  I've been busy making baby hats for the hospital nursery.  If I get time I will post the cutest little bunny hat that I made!   It's just adorable.  Anyway just popped in to say hello....

Wow! It's been a while since I've been here!

Here is my latest paper crafting project. Very simple and small but I'm getting back in the groove.  I've found some very cool blogs with some very inspiring ideas.  So here goes.... Some quilled Valentine hearts.  I thought they were so cute and so easy and you could whip them up in no time in front of the TV.  So I made a few dozen and put them in this glass container around a candle.  I thought it was pretty cute.  I'm sure there a millions of things you can do with them.
I got the idea from this blog Under the Table & Dreaming.  So here I am back to paper crafting and this is what caught my fancy at the moment.
Thanks for taking a look
Nancy :)
